Founded in 1948, Nicholls State University is classified by Carnegie as a Master's Medium University and by the Southern Regional Education Board as a 4-Year IV institution. Located along the banks of Bayou Lafourche in Thibodaux, La., Nicholls is a comprehensive regional university known for its one-of-a-kind Chef John Folse Culinary Institute as well as its strong biological sciences, education, business and nursing programs.
